How To Find The Right Sensitivity For Your Phone
Your phone's screen size, refresh rate and touch behaviour all change how a number feels. This is a method for finding values that fit your device instead of borrowing someone else's.
Step 1 — Get a baseline, not a blank slate
Starting from the game defaults wastes days, because the defaults are not tuned for your hardware. Generate a device-based starting set instead, then treat it as a hypothesis you are going to test.
Write the numbers down or copy them. You need something to return to when an experiment goes badly.
Step 2 — The turn test (General)
Stand still in training and swipe once, comfortably, from the middle of your thumb's range. You should be able to turn roughly 180 degrees without repositioning your thumb.
If you need two swipes, General is too low. If a normal swipe spins you well past where you intended, it is too high. Adjust in steps of five and repeat.
Step 3 — The tracking test (scopes)
Find a moving target — a bot strafing, or a friend running side to side — and try to keep the crosshair on it while scoped. You are not shooting yet; you are only tracking.
Overshooting past the target means the scope value is too high. Trailing behind means too low. Test each scope separately, because they are separate sliders and each one has its own feel.
Step 4 — The correction test
Aim at a fixed point, look away, then snap back to it. A well-fitted value lands close and needs one small correction. A value that is too high lands past the point and needs a correction in the opposite direction every single time.
Step 5 — Play, then adjust once
Take the setup into real matches for a session. Note the one thing that annoyed you most — not five things. Change only that value, by about five points, and play again.
Most players land on a setup they keep for months within two weeks of doing this honestly.
When the problem is not sensitivity
If your aim is inconsistent in a way that changes mid-match, look at frame stability, heat and HUD placement before touching the sliders again. A button you cannot reach comfortably produces the same symptoms as a bad sensitivity value.
- Stutters or frame drops during fights
- Phone hot enough to throttle after ten minutes
- Fire button placed where your thumb has to stretch
- Screen protector or wet fingers affecting touch registration

Three to five per change. Fewer than that and match variance dominates the result.
