Weapon Tuning

Find a suitable sensitivity setup for your weapon

Vorzilo Tools

Every weapon class rewards a slightly different sensitivity band. Use these ranges as a target, then tune inside the band using your generated values.

Popular weapons

AK-style assault rifle

Assault RiflesMid to long range

Matches guns like AK47, AK, Woodpecker

General
85–95
Red Dot
88–96
Scope
70–80

Best used for

Holding angles and trading at medium range where each bullet matters.

High-damage rifles kick upward hard, so your control comes from a steady downward drag rather than fast flicks. Slightly lower red dot values keep that drag smooth instead of overshooting past the head line.

Aim control tips

  • Fire in four to six bullet bursts and reset your aim between them
  • Drag down and very slightly opposite to the horizontal kick
  • Practise on a wall in training ground until the pattern stays inside a small circle

Balanced assault rifle

Assault RiflesMid range

Matches guns like SCAR, XM8, Groza, M4A1

General
88–98
Red Dot
90–98
Scope
72–82

Best used for

All-purpose mid-range fighting and pushing in ranked squads.

Moderate recoil rifles reward consistency more than raw sensitivity. Values a few points higher than a heavy rifle help you swap targets without losing the head line.

Aim control tips

  • Keep General slightly below your red dot value for calmer tracking
  • Strafe while firing so return fire misses your head
  • Reset to hip fire when an enemy closes inside ten metres

Long-range marksman rifle

Assault RiflesLong range

Matches guns like SVD, Parafal, Plasma

General
80–90
Red Dot
82–90
Scope
62–74

Best used for

Single-tap trading across open ground and roof-to-roof fights.

Single-fire rifles need precision rather than speed, so scope sensitivity is the value to lower first. A calmer scope lets you make micro corrections instead of jumping past the target.

Aim control tips

  • Tap-fire with a short pause so the scope settles between shots
  • Lower 4X sensitivity before you lower General
  • Aim at the upper chest and let recoil walk into the head

Fast-fire SMG

SMGsClose range

Matches guns like MP40, Vector, MP5

General
95–100
Red Dot
92–100
Scope
70–80

Best used for

Rushing buildings, close gunfights and finishing knocked enemies.

SMG fights are decided by how quickly you can find the head at short distance, so higher General and red dot values help. Scope values matter far less because you rarely scope in.

Aim control tips

  • Aim at neck height so the spray climbs into the head
  • Practise a short upward flick from chest to head
  • Move constantly — SMG duels are won by movement as much as aim

Controlled SMG

SMGsClose to mid range

Matches guns like UMP, Thompson, P90

General
90–98
Red Dot
90–98
Scope
72–82

Best used for

Close fights where you also need to hold a short lane.

Lower fire-rate SMGs behave a little like rifles up close. Keeping values a touch under maximum makes it easier to hold the head line for the whole magazine.

Aim control tips

  • Burst instead of holding the trigger past six bullets
  • Use hip fire indoors and red dot for short lanes
  • Match your fire button size to your finger, not to a video

Pump shotgun

ShotgunsVery close range

Matches guns like M1887, SPAS12

General
88–96
Red Dot
85–95
Scope
60–70

Best used for

Doorway fights, stair holds and one-shot pushes.

Shotguns need fast target acquisition, not fine tracking. Mid-to-high General helps you turn onto a target quickly, while scope values are almost irrelevant.

Aim control tips

  • Aim at chest level — pellet spread covers the head from close range
  • Pre-aim the door frame instead of swinging wide
  • Swap weapon immediately after the shot rather than waiting for the pump

Semi-auto shotgun

ShotgunsVery close range

Matches guns like M1014, MAG7

General
90–98
Red Dot
88–96
Scope
60–70

Best used for

Aggressive close-range play with follow-up shots.

With more shots available you can afford slightly higher values and correct on the second shot, which suits players who rush frequently.

Aim control tips

  • Keep moving between shots so you are hard to track
  • Do not scope — hip fire keeps your field of view wide
  • Learn the effective range so you stop trading at distance

Bolt-action sniper

SnipersVery long range

Matches guns like AWM, Kar98k

General
70–85
Red Dot
80–90
Scope
45–60

Best used for

Long-range picks from cover and opening a fight at distance.

Sniper scope sensitivity is the single value where lower is usually better. Small movements travel a long way inside a high-magnification scope, so a calm setting makes headshots repeatable.

Aim control tips

  • Hold your breath before firing to steady the scope
  • Lead a moving target by roughly one body width at long range
  • Practise quick scope-in and scope-out to avoid being pushed

Semi-auto sniper

SnipersLong range

Matches guns like M82B, SKS

General
78–88
Red Dot
82–92
Scope
55–68

Best used for

Chip damage and pressure at long range with faster follow-ups.

Because you get multiple shots, a slightly higher scope value keeps you on target while an enemy repositions between hits.

Aim control tips

  • Fire, correct, then fire again rather than spamming
  • Watch the first bullet's impact to learn your lead
  • Drop to a red dot weapon once the fight closes

Standard pistol

PistolsClose range

Matches guns like MP5 pistol, M500, G18

General
90–100
Red Dot
90–100
Scope
70–80

Best used for

Early-game fights before you find a primary weapon.

Pistols are used at close range in unplanned fights, so higher values that let you turn quickly are more useful than precise tracking.

Aim control tips

  • Tap the fire button rather than holding it
  • Aim head height immediately — pistol body damage is low
  • Drop the pistol as soon as a better weapon is available

Heavy pistol

PistolsClose to mid range

Matches guns like Desert Eagle, M500

General
85–95
Red Dot
88–96
Scope
68–78

Best used for

A backup sidearm that can trade at slightly longer distance.

Higher-damage pistols have noticeable kick, so values just below your SMG settings keep the second and third shot on target.

Aim control tips

  • Space your shots instead of firing as fast as possible
  • Use it as a finisher rather than an opener
  • Keep the same red dot value as your primary for muscle memory

Why weapon-specific sensitivity is really about weapon class

Free Fire uses one sensitivity profile for your whole loadout, so the practical question is not “what is the sensitivity for this gun” but “which band suits the guns I use most”. A player who lives on SMGs indoors wants a higher band than one who holds long angles with a marksman rifle.

The weapon names on this page describe classes rather than exact in-game items, because balance changes between patches. The class behaviour — how much a weapon kicks, how far it is used, how many shots you get — is far more stable than any individual gun's statistics.

How to pick your band

  • Count the weapons you actually carry in your last ten matches, not the ones you admire in videos.
  • If two of them are close range, choose the higher band and lower your scopes.
  • If you carry a sniper as a second weapon, lower only the sniper scope value rather than the whole profile.
  • Never tune more than one value per session — you will not be able to tell what helped.

Disclaimer

These ranges are starting points written by the Vorzilo team, not official values, and they are not guaranteed to feel identical on your device. Refresh rate, touch sampling rate and frame stability all change how a given number feels in your hands.

Gun sensitivity FAQ

No. The game uses one sensitivity profile for everything, so these ranges describe the profile that suits each weapon class best. Pick the band that matches the weapons you use most.
