Aim Improvement Guide

Free Fire settings explained

Settings remove a handicap; drills build the skill. Here is a routine you can complete in fifteen minutes.

The 15-minute routine

Repeat this before ranked sessions.

  • 3 min: static target tracking at close range
  • 4 min: drag headshot practice on a wall target
  • 4 min: strafe-and-shoot movement drill
  • 4 min: scope-in transitions at mid range

Stop changing sensitivity

The single biggest cause of stalled aim is changing values every session. Lock your set, complete a week of drills, then adjust one value.

Track one metric

Pick headshot rate or damage per match and check it weekly. Feelings lie; a number tells you whether a change actually helped.

Testing drill progress on a real phone

Record a short screen capture of your training ground session once a week using the device's built-in screen recorder, then watch it back at half speed to see where your drag overshoots or stops short of the head. Watching your own footage is more accurate than trying to remember what happened mid-drill.

Common mistakes during drills

Doing the drill at a single fixed range every time trains you to guess distance rather than judge it, so vary the wall target distance across sessions even though you should keep the range fixed within a single session, as described earlier for the headshot drill. Rushing through drills at three times normal fight speed builds twitchy habits that fall apart under real match pressure, where reaction time is slower due to the stakes.

How drills interact with sensitivity values

The static tracking drill mostly trains your feel for General and Free Look, while the scope-in transition drill is where a wrongly tuned 2X or 4X value becomes obvious, since you will consistently need one more correction than expected to land on the head. If a specific drill segment always feels harder than the others, that is a hint about which sensitivity value to test next, not necessarily a skill gap.

Limits of drilling

Drills improve consistency with settings you already have; they will not fix a fundamentally mismatched sensitivity set, an unstable frame rate, or a HUD layout that physically blocks your thumb. If drilling for two weeks produces no measurable change in your tracked metric, check those other factors before assuming you need more practice.
